Amira Balacán

Professor UADY

 

Amira Balacán has a major in Industrial Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Yucatan (UADY); a Specialty in Technology Management from the same knowledge institution, and a Master degree in Business Administration and Regional Development from InstitutoTecnológico de Mérida (ITM). Amira Balacán is a Lecturer at Universidad Autónoma de Yucatan (UADY) and Manager of Laboratory of Industrial Analysis in the environmental area. This Lab is certified by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA), and has the approval of the National Water Commission (CONAGUA). She has supervised nine thesis at the undergraduate level in the areas of Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, as well as five master degree thesis in economic-administrative areas specifically in strategic planning and demand forecasting. From an applied approach, Amira Balacán develops and implements strategic plans to the local industry that is the case of implementation of environmental systems for water treatment. She also performs activities related to valuation and technology transfer taking as a basis the National TechnologyAward normativity. She is part of the Academy-Industry Committee of the Chemical Engineering School of Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY).
