Gastón Cedillo

Technical Director National Laboratory for Transportation Systems and Logistics

 

Gaston Cedillo is the Founder and Technical Director of the National Laboratory for Transportation Systems and Logistics with headquarters at the InstitutoMexicanodelTransporte (IMT) and recognized by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT). Strategical project conceived by the IMT in partnership with the InstitutoTecnológico de Sonora (ITSON), Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL), and a research network of more than 160 logistics experts located in 4 continents.

Dr. Cedillo is the Founder and current President of the Mexican Logistics and Supply Chain Association (AML). At the same time, he is a Visiting Professor of CIATEC (Research Center that belongs to CONACYT), National Researcher in Logistics Engineering, National Logistics Award (2012), Technology Innovation Award (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, 2012), Engineering Leadership Award (University Anahuac, 2015), and Distinguished Service Award by Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society (IEOM, 2015). Dr. Cedillo is the Scientific Chairman of the International Conference in Logistics and Supply Chain (CiLOG) that is yearly organized.From a professional perspective, Dr. Cedillo counts with 20 years of experience in the field of research, consulting and implementation of technological solutions for logistics, transportation and supply chain.

In 2004, he received with honors a Ph.D. in Transportation-Logistics Systems Dynamics from the University of Paris, France. In 2001, he received with honors the M.Sc. in Logistics and Organizations from the Research Center for Transportation and Logistics (CRET-LOG), France. In 1999, he received with honors the M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). In 1997, he received a Specialty in Urban Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP). In 1995, he obtained a major in Civil Engineering with a minor in Systems Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP). He obtained the AMLProGlobal Certification that is delivered by the AML. Recently, he was collaborating as Visiting Professor of the prestigious École des Mines de Saint Etienne and Research Center for Transportation and Logistics (CRET-LOG) in France, Visiting Researcher of the International Program of the MIT-Zaragoza Logistics Center and as a Speaker of the National Center for Innovation Georgia-Tech Panamá. Dr. Cedillo is Member of the Mexican Academy of the System Sciences.

Professor Cedillo is frequently consultedby government agencies and leading manufacturing, retail and transportation enterprises running operations in Latin America. He is also an active entrepreneur, having founded and co-founded several successful technology based organizations. Dr. Cedillofrequently publishes his research results in top scientific journals as Computer and Industrial Engineering, Computers in Industry, Applied Energy, Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review, and in globally recognized scientific conferences as the International Congress on Logistics and Supply Chain (CiLOG).
